Obituary of James W. Retos

James William Jaime Retos, 58, of Peabody, died unexpectedly Thursday morning at his home. He was the husband of Roberta (Norris) Retos with whom he shared 11 years of marriage. He was born in Salem, Ma on February 27, 1947, the son of Jennie (Spiliotis) Retos of Peabody and the late John B. Retos and had resided in Peabody most of his life. He was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1965 and then entered the US Army where he served in Vietnam in the Tet offensive from 1966 until his discharge in 1969. Upon returning to Peabody he became a hairdresser and had operated many different salons in the North Shore and Middlesex counties until his disability retirement. He was an avid movie fan and had an extensive collection of past and current movie videos. He also enjoyed following the Celtics Basketball teams and was a caring family man. Surviving him besides his wife and mother are a son and granddaughter, James J. Retos and his daughter, Kylee Ann Retos both of Salem, 2 step-daughters, Rebecca L. Lindley of Bangor, ME and Alicia N. Lindley of Swansea,MA, and his aunts, Jennie Larios of Peabody and her son William Larios and his wife Esther of Byfield, Ruth Retos, Mary Espinola, Helen Mc Donald, Elsie and Eleanor Spiliotis and Virginia and her husband Edwin Dutille all of Peabody and Constance and John Perakis of Lewiston, NY . A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., Peabody location. His Funeral Services will be held there on Monday at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem with military honors.
