Obituary of Florence V. (Dellamonica) Ellison

Florence V. (Dellamonica) Ellison PEABODY—Florence V. (Dellamonica) Ellison, 90, beloved wife of the late Irving Ellison, died peacefully on Thursday evening November 7, 2013 at the Rosewood Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody, following a brief illness. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Angelina (Tirabassi) Dellamonica. She grew up in Lynn, and graduated from Lynn English High School. She continued her education at the Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. Mrs. Ellison worked for Sears-Roebuck in Lynn where she met her husband. She moved to Pittsfield for a short time, and returned to Peabody where she lived for 50 years. Besides nurturing her family, she also worked briefly in the cafeteria for Peabody elementary schools, and later worked in Customer Service for the Bostik Corporation of Middleton for 15 years before retiring. Florence enjoyed belonging to the Peabody Garden Club, creating stained-glass, sewing, and was passionate about reading the latest murder-mystery by John Clancy or Agatha Christie. She was also an excellent cook, and will be dearly missed by those whose lives she touched. She is survived by a son Peter Ellison of Dana Point, CA and daughter-in-law Frances Ellison of Peabody and a daughter and son-in-law Paula & John Moore of Shutesbury; five grandchildren, Rebecca Gallant-Lowe, Leland Moore, Emilee, Peter and Angela Ellison, and three nieces. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a brother Richard Delmonico and a sister Eleanor Rando. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Monday November 11, 2013 for a visitation from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12 Noon in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody.
