Obituary of Marguerite M. (Wright) Brooks

Marguerite M. (Wright) Brooks PEABODY—Marguerite M. (Wright) Brooks, 96, beloved wife of the late Alfred Brooks, died peacefully on Tuesday November 12, 2013 at the Rosewood Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody, following an extended illness. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Mary Jenkins. She lived in Cambridge, Brighton and Waltham for several years after she married her husband, and lived in Peabody for the last 35 years. Marguerite enjoyed gatherings at the Peabody Council on Aging, doing ceramics, and was an avid Boston sports fan of the Red Sox and Bruins. Her passion was simply being with her family and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David & Marietta Brooks of Peabody; seven grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as she was living with five generations; a brother William Jenkins of South Hamilton, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter Joan Fuller. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday November 15, 2013 for her Funeral Service at 11:30 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be on Thursday from 6 – 8 P.M. and on Friday from 10 – 11:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 50 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a Disabled American Veteran’s group.
