Obituary of Frank Costa, Jr

Frank Costa, Jr, 90, of Peabody, died unexpectedly Saturday morning at his home. He was the beloved husband of Matilda (Tamosi) Costa. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Frank Costa Sr. and Camilla (Mastrianni) Costa. He was raised and educated in Boston, later lived in Malden and has spent the last 50 years living in Peabody. Frank owned and operated Lawrence Metal in Peabody for over 45 years before he relinquished the reigns to his sons who own and operate it today. Frank continued working for Lawrence Metal for many years and never did fully retire from the company. Frank enjoyed golfing and was a long time member of the Indian Ridge Golf Club in Andover. He also was a member of the Boston Grand Lodge of Order of Sons of Italy in America and was an avid sports fan of all of Boston’s professional sports teams. He is survived by his children, Stefan Costa of Peabody, Andrea and her husband Jim Vugaropulos of Tyngsboro, Paul and his wife Sandy Costa and Denise and her husband Dana Doucette, all of Peabody, a brother, Charlie Costa of Watertown and also by 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Joe and Angelo Costa. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
