Obituary of Norman A. St. Pierre
Norman A. St. Pierre, 86, husband of Violet (Larocque) St. Pierre of Peabody, died on Monday, November 18 at home with his family by his side.
Norman was born in Salem to Amable and Lena (St. Jean) St. Pierre on December 23, 1926. After graduating from Salem High School he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a Seaman 1st Class before being honorably discharged in May of 1946. Norman then continued his education and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology, followed by Masters Degrees in Mechanical & Structural Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston.
Norman was employed for 32 years as an engineer with the Research & Development Group at EG&G in Wellesley until his retirement in 1992. He dedicated his life to spending time with family and pursuing his passions. He particularly enjoyed navigating the ocean on his yacht, Cygnus, and playing golf. He was a member of the American Institute of Plant Engineers and the VFW Fidelity Post 1011 in Peabody.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, Norman is survived by his three daughters and one son-in-law: Susan George of Lynn, Joyce ‘Jaye’ St. Pierre Dallaire and David Dallaire of Peabody, and Joan St. Pierre of Johnson, VT; ten grandchildren: Dennis Passarella-George, Glenn George, Kelley George, Jennifer George, Stephanie Dallaire, Jacqueline (Dallaire) Duhé, Marc Dallaire, Nicole George, Shawn George and Melissa George; and eleven great-grandchildren: Kayla, Skyler, Alexandra, Isabella, Scarlett, Annaliese, Joshua, Matthew, Mason, Tyler and Brailynn; three nieces and one nephew.
Norman’s family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, November 22 from 4 to 8 PM at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home on 82 Lynn Street in Peabody. His funeral will be held from the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday, November 23, 2013 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin Street, Peabody.
