Obituary of Henrietta (Dlugokinski) Hincman
Peabody - Henrietta Hincman (Dlugokinski) of Peabody, died Friday, November 22, 2013 at Rosewood Nursing Home, Peabody . She was married to Peter F. Hincman (deceased January 4, 2006) in 1942 at Saint Joseph Polish Church.
She was born in Poland August 23 1920 to the late Genevieve (Golob) and Stefan Dlugokinski and raised, educated and resided in Peabody for 83 years.
She regularly attended and supported Saint John the Baptist Church in Peabody. She was Treasurer for Women’s Sodality for many years and demonstrated some of her many talents: knitting, crocheting, baking and cooking at the annual Church fair.
She was the Candy Striper Coordinator at the JB Thomas Hospital for many years while raising her three sons. She started another career in sales at Jordan Marsh/Macy’s at the North Shore Shopping Center in Peabody, where she worked until she was 75 years old.
She volunteered her sales expertise at the Torigian Community Life Center Thrift shop in Peabody. She added the art of Japanese Bunka embroidery to her skills creating many beautiful pictures for her growing family members. Henrietta was an avid and excellent golfer and bingo player. Her infectious enthusiasm for everything she pursued and everyone she met won her many steadfast friends.
Henrietta is survived by: three sons, Peter (late wife Maryanne), Philip (and wife Helen), and Paul (late wife Robin); seven grandchildren and their spouses, Karolyn and Robert Golin, Barbara and Brian Heaps, Kyle and Paul Blanchard, Audrey and Christopher Hinson, Julia and Ben Francavilla, David and Jennifer Hincman, Jeremy and Amelia Hincman; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Chester Dlugokinski and Lotty Lindgren, and predeceased by Steven Dlugokinski, Alfreda Goodrich and Joan Steeves.
Henrietta’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody. Her family requested that all contributions be made in Henrietta’s name to the Senior Center at the Peter A. Torigian Community Life Center, 79 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960.
