Obituary of Leland J. "Lee" Cole, Jr.

Leland J. “Lee” Cole, Jr., 28, of Lynn, fiancée of Tara Von Fridrich, was pronounced dead at the scene of a tragic motor vehicle accident in Salisbury on Sunday, December 8, 2013. Lee was born in Danvers, on May 30, 1985, son of Marianne (Stone) Pezzulo and the late Leland J. Cole, Sr. He was raised and educated in Peabody, received his GED and was pursuing to obtain his contractor’s license. He has been living in Lynn for the past 3 years with his fiancée Tara and daughter Leighton, building memories in their first home together. Lee was a self-employed contractor for many years, learning everything he knew from not only his father but from the one man Lee idolized with great honor, his grandfather Gary M. Cole. Lee was starting his own business, Cole Contracting. He took pride in all his work, always needing to fix something! Lee enjoyed summering in Rochester, NH with his family and friends, fishing, jet skiing, working on cars, four wheeling with his brother Nicholas Niland and spending time with all of his family. Lee’s greatest joy of all was being a special, one of a kind dad. In addition to his mother Marianne of Salisbury and fiancée Tara of Lynn, Lee is survived by his 2 daughters, Leighton A. Cole and Ava L. Cole; his paternal grandparents, Gary M. and Carol A. (Dube) Cole of Peabody; 3 sisters, Amanda Cole of Peabody, Ashleigh Cole of Essex and Alicia Pezzulo of Salisbury; Tara’s parents, Peter Von Fridrich of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Elaine Bertolino of Beverly; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Lee’s family, relatives and friends are welcome to pay respects on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A family service will be held during the viewing at 7 p.m. A private family committal service of ashes will be held at a later date.
