Obituary of Irene D. (Marcoux) Lincoln
Irene D. (Marcoux) Lincoln 87 years of Peabody, beloved wife of the late Kenneth L. Lincoln with whom she shared 51 years of marriage, died Wednesday in Salem Hospital after a brief illness surrounded by her immediate family which her entire life revolved around.
Mrs. Lincoln was born July 1, 1918 in Lewiston Maine daughter of the late Agenor and Josephine (Martin) Marcoux. She was raised and educated in Lewiston and moved to Cambridge at an early age. She was employed for many years as a waitress at Kenny’ s Restaurant in Cambridge where she met her husband. In 1955 she moved to Peabody and became a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and cleaning.
She is survived by her loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law, John R. and Linda Lincoln of Essex; her loving grandchildren, Abby E. and Todd R. Lincoln both of Essex; her son, Gerard Granger of Lewiston Maine; her close extended family, Natalie and Al Therrien, Janet and Tim Spanos and Pattiann Maga all of Peabody; her many and dearest friends from Oak Ave. and the Peabody House in Peabody.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St., location Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Friday 5 - 8 p.m. Cremation will follow services. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers MA 01923.
