Obituary of Rosario Di Martino

Rosario Di Martino PEABODY—Rosario Di Martino, 76, beloved husband of Maria (Ippolito) Di Martino, died peacefully Tuesday December 17, 2013 at the Beverly Hospital, following an extended illness. Born in Italy, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (D’Ultri) Di Martino. He grew up in Sicily and met his wife there. He came to the United States in 1963, then got married in 1965 before settling in East Boston. He later lived in Everett before moving to Peabody where he lived for the last 32 years. Mr. Di Martino was a very skilled worker in carpentry and as a mason. He worked with J.F. White Construction of Cambridge before having an accident which was the end of his career. Rosario enjoyed gardening and sports. He enjoyed social gatherings with family and friends at his home, and watching the football games or following the Bruins. He was most passionate about spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Maria (Ipppolito) Di Martino of Peabody, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage; four sons Joseph & his wife Joanna Di Martino of Peabody, Salvatore & his wife Jillian Di Martino of Stoneham, Nicholas Di Martino of Peabody, and Ronnie Di Martino of Dover, NH; seven grandchildren, Anna Maria Di Martino, Stephanie Di Martino, Joseph Di Martino Jr., Alyssa Di Martino, Anthony Di Martino, Nicole Di Martino and Vivian Di Martino; a brother Joseph Di Martino of Winthrop and Salvatore Di Martino of Revere, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Pasqualina Tinnerelo. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday December 21, 2013 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 – 7:30 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
