Obituary of Anna M. (Wywurski) Mendalka

Anna M. (Wywurski) Mendalka, wife of the late Alphonse S. Mendalka, died peacefully on Sunday December 22, 2013 at the Rosewood Nursing & Rehab Center in Peabody. Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Boran) Wywurski. She was a lifelong resident of the city, and graduated from Peabody High School. Mrs. Mendalka worked at General Electric in Lynn for many years. Anna was involved in the community through several organizations. She volunteered at the Torigian Life Center for many years. She is survived by a daughter Elaine McDonough Gardner of Portsmouth, NH; two grandchildren, Elaine McDonough of Lynn and John McDonough of Danville, NH; two great-grandchildren, Nicole McDonough of Lynn and Rachel McDonough of Manchester, NH; two great-great-grandchildren, Brayden and Tayla Lopes of Lynn; a sister Nellie Klopotosky of Peabody, and enjoyed a long, dear friendship with Joan Johnson of Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Thursday December 27, 2013 for a visitation from 4 – 7 P.M. A Private Family Funeral Service will be on Friday with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Memorial donations may be made to the Torigian Community Life Center, 79 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960.
