Obituary of Henry A Wilson

Henry A Wilson, 86, of Peabody, died Sunday morning with his family by his side at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Katherine (Dluznieska) Wilson who passed away this past May. Born in Harlaton, Texas, he was the son of the late Foster and Gladys (Phillips) Wilson. He was raised and educated in Texas and upon marrying his wife, moved to Peabody where he has lived for the past 63 years. Henry was a veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army and was honorably discharged in February 1949. Following the war, Henry was employed with the Boston Naval Shipyard as a planner and estimator for 27 years before he retired in 1984. He was a life member of the VFW and DAV and the Elks Club, all in Peabody. He was a lover of animals but what her cherished most was spending time with his children and later his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Henry is survived by his children and their spouses, Richard and Helen Wilson of AZ, Karen Wilson, and Laurel and George Gongas all of Peabody, his grandchildren, Mark, Timothy, and John Wilson, Stephen and Matthew DiMarzio, Meredith Renschler, Katherine Woodard, Kelly Wilson, Daniel Krawczyk, Kendra White, Geoffrey and William Gongas, Jaime Cruz; 15 great grandchildren; a sister, Jan and her husband Bill Ridgeway of TX, a brother Rev. Dan Manuel and his wife Audrey of TX, his son-in-law, Daniel DiMarzio of Burlington; a sister-in-law, Debbie Manuel of TX, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Paul Wilson, a daughter Julie DiMarzio and his siblings, John Manuel, Bobby Jean Ethridge, Stella Marie Cartwright, and Lennie Jones. His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
