Obituary of Joaquim D. Brasil
Joaquim D. Brasil, 69, of Lowell and formerly of Peabody, died suddenly on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of the late Maria O. (Dos Neves) Brasil. He was born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal on May 25, 1944 the son of the late Manuel and Ana (Dos Santos) Brasil and immigrated to the United States 41 years ago. He had resided in Peabody before moving to Lowell.
He had been employed in the Leather Industry at Travel Leather while residing in Peabody and later worked in the Meat Wholesale industry.
He was a quiet man and a good friend and loved his children and grandchildren. He was always up for a good laugh and enjoyed being a practical jokester.
He is survived by his children, Jack Brazil of Lynn, Manny Brazil of Lowell and Gina Brazil of Revere, a brother, Manuel Brasil of Tampa, Florida, his sisters, Tina Silva of Lehigh Acres, FL, Maria Lusbelia Silva of Lowell and Rosalina Lima of the Azores, his grandchildren, Monique and Megan Gomes, Karli, Tyler and Collin Brazil and many nieces and nephews.
Change of Time
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 9:00 until 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas the ApostleChurch, Rt. 114 Peabody/Salem line at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
