Obituary of David M Walsh

David M. Walsh, 59, of Danvers passed away peacefully on Sunday morning with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Susan (Vanne) Walsh and devoted father of Patrick D. Walsh. Born in Salem, he was the son of Genevieve (Manning) Walsh of Peabody and the late John Walsh. He was raised in West Peabody and was a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School. After high school, David worked for the Pickle Barrel in Peabody and for Papa John’s in Swampscott. He then opened Engine House Pizza in Salem in 1979. David enjoyed going to work everyday for 25 years and was so proud of the business he built and also the employees that worked for him. David was an avid golfer and a member of Ferncroft Country Club for over 25 years. His favorite place on earth was Puerto Rico, where he went every winter with his family and friends. David was so proud of his family and was a great husband and father. He had too many friends to count and loved and appreciated every one of them. Besides his loving wife Susan, his mother Genevieve, and his son Patrick, he is survived by his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeffrey and Lynda Walsh of Beverly and Michael and Paula Walsh of Woburn, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Doug and Connie Vanne of Beverly and Judy and Al Mysinek of Minnesota, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James Walsh. His funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy can be made in his name to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
