Obituary of Marie (Dallas) Angelos

Marie (Dallas) Angelos MARBLEHEAD—Marie (Dallas) Angelos, 70, beloved wife of Gus Angelos of Marblehead, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday January 6, 2014, while in the comforting presence of her family. Born in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Dallas) Dallas. She grew up and was educated in the Bronx. She later graduated from Hunter College, Class of 1964. Mrs. Angelos enlisted in the United States Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant. She served during the Vietnam War and was discharged with the rank of Captain. She worked as a Civilian Procurement Agent for the government with Wright- Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. She later worked collaborating for government projects at General Electric in Lynn, and retired from Raytheon in Andover. Marie was very active in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody. She taught Sunday School, was involved in the Philiptochos Society, and St. Stevens Ministries. She loved cooking and baking, as her family and friends always enjoyed her delectable treats. She loved the ocean, whether on a sailboat locally or traveling on a cruise ship Some of her fondest memories are cruises to Greece, Russia, Barcelona and the Caribbean. She is survived by her husband Gus Angelos of Marblehead, with whom she shared 30 years of marriage; a step son Steven Angelos & his wife Amita Ghosh, and their daughter Anu Angelos of Cincinatti, OH; a step-daughter Stacey Ward and her children Chris Gambrell and Amber Gambrell of Phoenix, AZ; a sister Katherine & her husband Tom Stratton of Saucelito, CA; an uncle John & his wife Dorothy Bulthuis of Paterson, NJ, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 – 8 P.M. Burial will be in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead
