Obituary of Kenneth C. "Ken" Felt

Kenneth Felt BEAUFORT, SC—Kenneth Felt, 81. beloved husband of Priscilla (Young) Felt of Beaufort and formerly of Peabody, passed away on Friday January 10, 2014 in South Carolina. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lilla (Newman) Felt. He grew up in Peabody where he attended schools. He lived in Peabody for 60 years, and moved to South Carolina where he lived 19 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, with service in the United States Navy. Mr. Felt worked at the Boston Naval Yard, and then in construction. He worked 20 years as Supervisor with Grounds and Maintenance at Salem Hospital. Ken was a Life Member of VFW in Peabody. He also enjoyed riding on his motorcycle, and enjoyed music whether playing a guitar at home or listening to soft Jazz and songs of Frank Sinatra. He sang in choir at West Congregational Church, and he was active with the Praise Assembly of God Church in SC. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla (Young) Felt of SC; two sons, Michael & his wife Joanne Felt of Temple, ME and Robert & his wife Jackie Felt of Freemont, NH; a daughter Catharine L. Desjardins of St. Augustine, FL; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by a daughter Nancy Eileen Felt. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday at 11 AM in the West Congregational Church for his Funeral Service. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 – 7 P.M.in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
