Obituary of Laura J. Crasco

Laura J. Crasco PEABODY—Laura J. Crasco, 82, died peacefully on Tuesday January 14, 2014 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center Hospital in Peabody, while in the comforting presence of her extended family. Ms. Crasco was born in Boston, and grew up in Dorchester and South Boston. She graduated from Girls High School of Boston, and with her roots in “Southie” she always looked forward to the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. She participated in the parade often along with her father who would host many social dances. She enlisted in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Ms. Crasco worked as an Inspector with Lucent Technologies in Watertown and retired after 25 years of service. Laura had a special gift of creativity, and expressed her artistic endeavors with her garden. She won the Pride in Peabody Peabody Home Gardening Contest in 2002. She also enrolled and earned a Certificate from Harvard Extension College in Interior Decorating. She was a very social person who enjoyed hosting events of all kinds. She is survived by extended family and friends, including Marilyn Bertrand and their beloved dog Tori of Peabody; nieces and nephews Bridgette and Tony Vermette, Karen and Paul Haase, Dr. Robert Lynch, Gretchen and Gabrielle Haase all of Maine, Merry and Matthew Pavlak of California. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday January 18, 2014 at 9:30 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Friday from 1 – 4 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930.
