Obituary of Claire M Sullivan

Claire M. (Dillon) Sullivan, 85, of Haverhill and formerly of Peabody, died Wednesday afternoon at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Sullivan. Born in Medford, she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine (Ryan) Dillon. She was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School where she was a member of the rifle team. Claire was first employed as a bookkeeper at New England Telephone and later at the Andrew Dutton Company. She raised her children in Malden and Wakefield and enjoyed their family vacations in New Hampshire, and later, she also traveled to Ireland. She was a member of the Tuesday Nighters Club in Wakefield with her good friends. She also loved to dance and tend to her garden. In the early 1980’s, she moved to Peabody where she enjoyed many more friends before eventually moving to the Stevens Bennett’s Home in Haverhill. Claire is survived by her three sons, Kenneth P. Sullivan and his wife Pam and their children, Wendy Morin and her husband Ernie, and Bert Eiro, Barry and his wife Judy Sullivan of Hooksett, NH, and Richard J. and his wife Sharon Sullivan of Londonderry, NH, her daughter, Laurie C, and her partner Lisa, her sister Grace Winslow of Iowa, her granddaughter, Kelleigh Sullivan of Londonderry, NH and by her great grandchildren, Evelyn and Robbie Morin and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Stephen D. Sullivan, and her sister Irene Rogers. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton. Expressions of sympathy can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
