Obituary of Francis L. Mallard

Frank L. Mallard, 53, of Peabody, died unexpectedly early Saturday morning at Salem Hospital. He was the loving husband of Winnie (Harris) Mallard. Born and raised in Peabody he was the son of Dorothy (Prue) Mallard of Peabody and the late John Mallard. He was a lifelong resident of the city and attended Peabody Public Schools and was a graduate of Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute in Danvers, class of 1968. After High School he entered the United States Navy and served for four years during the Vietnam War. He was a recipient of the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for Korea. He later worked as an automotive mechanic for various shops around the North Shore. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks #149 and St. Michael’ s Club, both in Peabody. Besides his loving wife and mother, he is survived by 2 sisters, Janice Cornet and Barbara Mallard, both of Peabody; 3 brothers, John Mallard, Jr., Paul and Robert Mallard, all of Peabody. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Memorial Gathering will be held prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM.
