Obituary of Joseph P. DiPietro

Joseph P. “Deter” DiPietro, 58, of Lynnfield, died peacefully Monday evening at Union Hospital in Lynn surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lynn, he was the son of Dr. Joseph J. and Regina (Bindon) DiPietro of Lynnfield. He was a life long resident of Lynnfield, graduated from St. John’s Prep in Danvers and attended Boston College for three years. He was employed as a chemist analyzing machinery lubricants used in industry today. He also worked for many years as baker and chef developing many specialty recipes for area coffee shops. Joey was well known for his passion of music, astronomy, photography, and cooking, most notably “the best scones around.” He also enjoyed gardening in his “Urban Garden” in which he grew his own organic herbs and tomatoes among other things. Besides his loving parents, he is survived by his devoted children, Alexandra DiPietro and Joseph P. DiPietro, Jr., and their mother Paula B. DiPietro, all of Danvers, his siblings, Dr. William DiPietro and his wife Betty of Boxford, Robert DiPietro of Lynnfield, Dr. Christopher DiPietro and his wife Tiffany of Lexington, Paul DiPietro and his wife Becky of Beverly and Gina DiPietro and David Theriault of Middleton, his nieces and nephews, Michael DiPietro of Lynnfield, Martino DiLiegro of Middleton, Ryan and Sean DiPietro of Lexington, and Lauren, Eric, and David DiPietro of Beverly. He was predeceased by his grandparents Carmelo and Gina (DiNatale) DiPietro and his nephew Nicholas DiPietro. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Grove St., Lynnfield to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Lynnfield.
