Obituary of Irene E. Karabelas

Irene E. Karabelas, 81, of Andover and formerly of Peabody, died early Monday morning at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Athena (Manitakos) Karabelas. She raised and educated in Peabody, and spent most of her adult life living in Andover. She was a Realtor and Real Estate developer in the Billerica area for many years before her retirement. She loved the outdoors and outdoor sports and enjoyed skiing and ice skating. She is survived by her two sisters, Doris Stavropulos of West Roxbury and Portia Karabelas in Peabody. She is also survived by a niece, Mary Kamamis of Great Neck, NY, and two nephews, Peter Stavropulos of Wayland and Paul Stavropulos of West Roxbury and many other grand nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Louis, James and Charles Dino , and Mary Karabelas Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
