Obituary of Paul S. Mallard

Paul S. Mallard, 67, of Peabody, husband of Mary A. (Bulger) Mallard, died with his family by his side at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Sunday, February 16, 2014. Paul was born in Peabody, on June 21, 1946, son of the late John A. and Dorothy (Prouxl) Mallard. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a lifelong resident of the city. Paul began his working career as a glazier with the Union Local 1044 in Boston. He later owned and operated M & M Glass & Aluminum on Lynn St., Peabody for 8 years. Prior to his recent retirement, he was employed in the same capacity at Salem Glass. Paul will be well remembered as a loving father who devoted his life creating a home for his family. Paul enjoyed entertaining friends at the family pool, gardening and attending functions at the Italian American Citizens Club in Peabody. In addition to his wife Mary with whom he shared 51 years of marriage, Paul is survived by his children and their spouses, John A. and Martha Mallard, Lisa M. Mallard and Bob Flynn all of Danvers, and Michelle L. and Steven Leblanc of Bradford; 2 brothers and their wives, John A. and Linda Mallard of Peabody, Robert and Jacqueline Mallard of Lynn; a sister and her husband, Janice and Christopher “Chris” Cornet of Peabody; 2 sisters-in-law, Janice Sahovey of Georgetown and Patricia Bulger of Peabody; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Paul was predeceased by his siblings Frank Mallard and Barbara Mallard. His family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Paul’s Celebration of Life service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at11 a.m. The family requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Paul’s name to the MGH / North Shore Cancer Center, C/O Oncology Department, 102 Endicott St., Danvers, MA 01923.
