Obituary of Artemis (Stylianopoulos) Bougas

Artemis (Stylianopoulos) Bougas PEABODY-- Artemis (Stylianopoulos) Bougas, 85, beloved mother and grandmother, and wife of the late Pericles Bougas, died peacefully on Friday February 28, 2014 at the Essex Park Rehab and Nursing Center of Beverly following an extended illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Georgia (Sarantopoulos) Stylianopoulos. She was a lifelong resident of the city, and graduated from Peabody High School. She lived in Peabody most of her life and lived in Beverly in her later years. Mrs. Bougas worked at GTE Sylvania on Loring Ave in Salem, and spent most of her career as a Clerk with the Welfare Office in Salem. After retirement she also worked in Gift Wrap Service at Macy’s Department Store in Peabody. Artemis was a very active member with St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody, and was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and the Philoptochos Athena. She also loved going to various Bingo nights. She is survived by two daughters, Stacy Doiron & her husband Michael and Charlene White & her husband Mark, all of Beverly; three grandchildren, Taylor Doiron, Zoe Doiron, and Haley White, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a brother Nicholas Stylianopoulos and sisters Margaret Hebert Gould and Agnes Bentas. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday March 5, 2014 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM in St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
