Obituary of Mary Tillas

Mary Tillas, 89, of Peabody, died Tuesday afternoon at the Pilgrim Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Christos Tillas. Born in Peabody she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Aganes (Batchenelas) Mandragouras. She was a life long resident of Peabody and attended Peabody Public Schools. Mary enjoyed playing bingo and was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and sharing in all of their endeavors. She is survived by her four sons, Angelo and his wife Monica Tillas of Forest, VA, Paul Tillas of Delta, PA, Nicholas Tillas of Crossville, TN, and Chris Tillas of Saugus, her two daughters, Angie Tillas and her fiancé Donald Brann of Beverly and Ellen and her husband Harry Thompson of Ft. Myers, FL, her sisters, Dena Walters of Danvers and Cynthia Mandragouras of Peabody, and is also survived by 11 grandchildren, a great grandchild and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
