Obituary of Robert "Bob" Lindgren

Robert Bob Lindgren, 84, of Peabody, died early Tuesday morning at the Radius Nursing Center in Beverly after a long illness. He Was the husband of Lotti (Dlugokinski) Lindgren with whom he shared 57 years of Marriage. He was born in Peabody on May 5, 1919, the son of the late Charles and Elsa (Kauppala) Lindgren, he was educated in Peabody schools and was a lifelong Peabody resident. He had been a millwright at the former A.C. Lawrence Leather Co., of Peabody for over 30 years prior to his retirement. A veteran of WW 11, Her served from 1942 until 1945 as a staff sergeant with the 1327th U.S. army air corps and saw action in India and Burma campaigns. An avid golfer, he was a Member of the Salem Greens and Local 21 Golf league. He played baseball with local Semi-pro teams playing for Bernard’ s Jewelers of Salem and later with the Peabody Cardinals. Surviving him besides his wife are a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Lindgren and Sharon St. Pierre of Peabody, two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and James Mc Ginnity of Danvers and Cathleen and David Viator of No. Reading, and papa of 6 grandchildren, James R. & his wife Susan Mc Ginnity of Beverly, Michael R. and His fiance Jill, Shawn P. Mc Ginnity both of Danvers, Kyle and Brett Viator of No. Reading and Rachel St. Pierre of Peabody. He was the brother of the late August Coke Lindgren and Signe Lindgren. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
