Obituary of Rita F. (Tarquinio)     Shell

Rita F. (Tarquinio) Shell, 89, of Peabody formerly of Saugus, died on Thursday, April 03, 2014 with her family by her side at The Brentwood Rehabilitation & Health Care in Danvers. Rita was born in Boston, on January 26, 1925, daughter of the late Antonio and Jennie (Romantica) Tarquinio. She was raised in East Boston and graduated from East Boston High School. Prior to moving to Peabody 8 years ago to reside with her daughter, she was a resident of Saugus for 52 years. Rita was employed for 30 years as a bookkeeper at the Roy S. Bacon Construction Co. until her retirement in 1987. She was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family. As hobbies, she was an avid gardener, enjoyed arranging flowers, decorating and shopping. Rita was the loving mother of Linda J. Fabrizio and her husband Dino, of Peabody, and Donald R. Shell Jr., and his wife Susan of Saugus; cherished grandmother of Jennifer and Danny Indingaro, Melissa and Mark Nazzaro, Deirdre D’Antona, Lisa and Colin Williams, Michael and Sarah Shell, Daniel Fabrizio and Nicholas Fabrizio, and great-grandmother of 13; mother-in-law of Janine Shell of Holden and Deirdre Kelley of Saugus, aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by her son, Michael D. Shell in 2005 and her siblings, Rose Pugh and Mario Tarquinio. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her funeral will be held on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody.
