Obituary of Mary A. (Riley) O'Toole

Mary A. (Riley) O’Toole PEABODY—Mary A. (Riley) O’Toole, 80, beloved wife of the late Paul O’Toole, died unexpectedly on Monday April 14, 2014 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center Hospital in Burlington, following an extended illness. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary (Lochhead) Riley. She grew up in Roslindale, and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. She lived in Peabody for the last 53 years. Mary was most passionate about her family, and very faitfully devoted as a member of St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. She was active in the church as a Eucaristic Minister as well as many church activities. She enjoyed the Marriage Encounter organization, and taught Pre-Cana classes at St. Adelaide’s. She was also a gifted cross-stitcher, and won awards at the Topsfield Fair. She will be dearly missed by her large family and many friends. She is survived by her eight children, John O’Toole & his partner Elaine Crowder of Hampstead, NH, Mary Beth & Steve Odian of Wenham, William O’Toole & his wife Kathleen Fox of Cambridge, Maine, the late Catherine & late Harry Cohen, James & Shari O’Toole of Franklin, Margaret & Thomas Pizza of Dracut, Anne & John Jones of Wilmington, Barbara & Jeff Galatis of Peabody, and Carol O’Toole of Peabody; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and extended family including brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Thursday April 17 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
