Obituary of John W. "Bill" Lowry

John W. Bill" Lowry PEABODY—John W. “Bill” Lowry, beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Ouellette) Lowry, died peacefully Thursday evening April 24, 2014 at the Atrium Healthcare Facility in Danvers, while in the comforting presence of his family. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Mary (Curran) Lowry. He grew up in Lynn where he attended schools. He later graduated from Wentworth Institute in Boston. Mr. Lowry enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He worked with the F.A.A., holding many positions for over 35 years, mostly in Burlington and Hanscomb AFB before retiring in 1997. Bill enjoyed the New England seashore, and was a member of the Danversport Yacht Club where he kept his boat. He enjoyed fishing for Bass and Bluefish. He loved being out in nature and walking. He was most passionate about his family, and caring for his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time in Tarpon Springs, FL with his wife. He is survived by his four children, including Diane & her husband Wayne Robinson of Salisbury, John Lowry of Salem, NH, Sandra & her husband Ronny Lanphear of Rowley, and Robin Lowry of Palm Harbor, FL; six grandchildren, Cameron and Colin Robinson, Curtis, Shannon and Janelle Lanphear, and Bryce Bundy; two brothers, Thomas Lowry of Newburyport and Ronald Lowry of NH; two sisters, Mary Jane Comeau of Peabody and Susan Feilteau of CA, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday April 30, 2014 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
