Edith M. (Wedge) Shaw
PEABODY—Edith M. (Wedge) Shaw, 82, beloved wife of the late Donald Shaw, died unexpectedly at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center Hospital in Burlington.
Born in Malden, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Edith (Fletcher) Wedge. She grew up in Malden and graduated from Malden High School.
Mrs. Wedge started in the mail room with New York Life, and eventually became Supervisor of Clerks with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Boston. She also was a representative with Avon.
Edith like travel to Hawaii, playing cards in a friendly poker game, and taking road trips. She was fond of animals and her dog Brandy, and spending time with her friends—her BFF’s, and loved the quote “my friends have been the best story of my life.”
She is survived by a brother Paul Wedge of Peabody; three grandchildren Kimberly Dube of Malden, Joshua Dube of Peabody, and Katie Gonzalez of FL; 7 great-grandchildren; a nephew Paul Wedge, Jr. and several cousins.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday May 10, 2014 for a Graveside Funeral Service at 11 AM in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
