Obituary of Mary P Worsencroft

Mary P. (Rackauskas) Worsencroft, 87, of Salem, died early Monday afternoon at her home following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Arthur J. Worsencroft. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Butkus) Rackauskas. She was raised and educated in Peabody and attended Peabody Schools. She has spent the last 50 years living in Salem. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the Leather industry in Peabody as a sorter. She was a member of St. Paul’ s Episcopal Church in Peabody and also enjoyed walking, gambling and traveling to Atlantic City and Las Vegas. She will be dearly missed by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Arthur and Vera Worsencroft of Germany, and Ralph Worsencroft of Salem; two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Chet Carlson of Salem and Joyce and Spike Vaselis of Beverly; a sister, Amelia Mellus of Peabody. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Rackauskas and Leona Casamassima At the request of the family, Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, Ma 01923 or St. Paul’ s Church, 16 Washington St., Peabody, Ma 01960.
