Obituary of John Sainato

John Sainato, 96, of Clearwater, Fl and formerly of Somerville and Arlington, MA, died on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005 at the Westchester Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Clearwater, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Frances (O’ Neil) Sainato and later the late Margaret (Chebook) Sainato. He was the son of the late Joseph and Annella (Milano) Sainato. He was first employed as a truck driver and later was a bus driver for the Mass Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) for many years prior to his retirement in 1972. He had been a long time member of the Dante Club in Somerville, the Carmen’ s Union and was a parishioner of St. Catherines Church. He later resided at the Brighton Gardens in Danvers before moving to Florida 2 years ago. He was known for his love of antique cars but his greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren, who he referred to as his little chickens . He also loved to sing and tell stories of his truck driving days. He is survived by 3 sons, William Sainato of Clearwater,Fl, George Sainato of Ocala,Fl and Daniel Sainato of Phoenix, Az., a daughter, Ann Mc Mahon of Clearwater, Fl, a sister, Marie Lee of Worcester, Ma, 24 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late John Sainato who died in 1993. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway,Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Ann’ s Church, Lynn St., Peabody at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the No Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, Ma. 01923.
