Obituary of Brett Abbott Phillips

Brett Abbott Phillips, 47, of Peabody, died on Friday May 16 at Salem Hospital after being stricken at home. Brett was the son of Suzanne (Abbott) Phillips of Peabody and the late William Phillips and was born in Huntington, PA. He was a 1985 graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School and lived in Peabody for most of his life. Brett started out working for his father at Charl Don and later he worked in construction and landscaping. Brett loved the outdoors, riding his motorcycle and trips to Laconia. He often said “A motorcycle is the best psychiatrist you could ever have.” Brett had a big heart. He loved his daughter Heather, his brother Brian, his daughter’s mother Cindy Manson, and the many good friends he has made and kept throughout his life. In addition to his mother, daughter, and brother, he is survived by his grandmother Alice Abbott of Defiance, PA and Peabody, his aunt Rose Phillips and his great aunts, Joan Phillips of Peabody and Joan and Paul Pawuk of PA and is also survived by many cousins and loved ones including his pet birds, Houdini, Buddy, and Slinky “Lulu” will be lost without him. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandfather Robert Abbott of PA and his great uncle Charlie Phillips. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Bass River, 437 Essex St., Beverly, MA 01915.
