Obituary of John Galaris

John Galaris, 77, a resident of Sayville, LI since 1970, died on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Born and raised in Peabody, Massachusetts, Mr. Galaris graduated Salem State College and later obtained his Master’s Degree at Hofstra University. Mr. Galaris taught and coached for many years at Brentwood Public Schools where he would become an administrator and retire as a Principal. Mr. Galaris is survived by his wife, Ruthie, his two sons; J.P. and his wife Kristy of Sayville and Steven and his wife Becky of Holbrook, as well as his two grandchildren, Madison and Abigail. His family will received relatives and friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 lynn St., Peabody. John’s funeral service will be Celebrated Tuesday at 12 noon at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 7 Paleologos St., Peabody. The family requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in John’s name to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody. Funeral arrangements in New York were entrusted to the Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville, LI.
