Obituary of Patrick J. Connolly

Patrick J. Connolly, 94, of Peabody and formerly of Somerville and Woburn, beloved husband of Barbara (Weeks) Connolly of Peabody with whom he shared over 69 years of marriage. Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late John J. and Kathleen (Burke) Connolly. He was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School, class of 1937. He was a veteran of World War II and recipient of the Purple Heart. He was employed for over 30 years for the City of Somerville as a firefighter and retired as a District Fire Chief in 1979. He was the loving father of Michael G. and his wife Fran Connolly of Middleton, brother of John F. Connolly of FL, Sr. Marie St. Barbara Connolly, SND of Hingham, grandfather of Mark Connolly of Peabody, Michelle Lambert of Beverly and Matthew Connolly of Middleton, great grandfather of Lila and Landan Connolly. He was predeceased by his siblings Michael, Thomas, Anna, Mary, and Sr. Julie Connolly, SND and Eleanor O’Leary. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at the Brooksby Village Chapel, 100 Brooksby Village Dr., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
