Obituary of Nicholas Frank Anastosopoulos

Nicholas Frank Anastosopoulos, 81, of Peabody, died early Wednesday afternoon at the Rosewood Nursing Home following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Ingeborg (Haber) Anastosopoulos with whom he shared over 48 years of marriage. Born in Keene, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Forti and Kanalla (Markis) Anastosopoulos. He was raised and educated in Lynn, attended Lynn Public Schools and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. He was a veteran of World War II who served with the United States Army. He worked as a cook for over 32 years at the Hilltop Steak House in Saugus before his retirement 10 years ago. He enjoyed candlepin bowling, was a member of the German American Club of the North Shore and enjoyed watching and attending youth to High School to Professional Sports. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Rosemary Anastosopoulos of Peabody, two daughters and sons-in-law, Dian and Pat Pantapas of Peabody and Becka and Thomas Dever of Danvers; six brothers and two sisters-in-law, Dan and Jean Anastos of Cal., Peter and Ann Anastosopoulos of Waterboro, Maine, Christos Anastos of Nahant, John Anastos of NJ, James Anastos of Fla., and Andrew Anastos of Arizona, three sisters, Dorothy Greberis and Georgia Condorouis, both of New Jersey, Diane Anastos of New York; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Henry and Edith Haber of Germany; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild, and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Alex Anastos and Sylvia Russell. His Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility followed by Funeral Services in St. George’ s Greek Orthodox Church at 10:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
