Obituary of John J. McLaughlin, Jr.

John J. McLaughlin, Jr. 71, of Peabody formerly of Melrose, died Friday evening at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Dyson) McLaughlin. Born in Medford, he was the beloved son of the late John J. McLaughlin Sr., and Mary (Scaringi)(McLaughlin) Raymond. He was a graduate of Somerville Trade School and was a truck driver for Exxon USA and Cumberland Farms who delivered oil and gas. He was the loving father of Kathleen and her husband Peter Prizio of Keene, NH John J. McLaughlin III and his wife Joni of Saugus, Karen McLaughlin of Peabody, Kerry and her husband Tom Spellman of Peabody, Joel and his wife Laura McLaughlin of Woburn, and Kim and her husband Ed Daley of Tampa, FL, brother of James and his wife Sue McLaughlin of Georgetown, and Kevin McLaughlin and Charlene Follett of Lynnfield, and Marilyn and her husband Jack Gendeloff of VA and is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Miranda, Annalise, John IV, Kayla, Jake, Patrick, Samantha, Jordan, Taylor, and Michael, a great grandchild, Harmony and by several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
