Obituary of Louis Perrella
Louis Perrella, 103, a long time resident of Peabody and formerly of Everett, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2014 at Rosewood Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Mary D. (Cafarella) Perrella.
Born in the North End of Boston, he was the son of Rose (Tisei) and Gennaro Perrella and he was raised in Everett. He was married to his beloved wife Mary for over 73 years.
He was a well known musician (trumpet player) and plumber, and worked in both of these professions until his early 80’s. He was very proud of his many years performing with the Big Band group called the Continental. He played in many of the clubs in the Boston area.
He leaves behind his four children, Arlene McLean and her husband Robert of Peabody, Geraldine Dunne and her husband James of Moultonborough, NH, Charles and his wife Carol of Sandown, NH and Dewey and his wife Kathryn of Peabody. He also leaves behind his three sisters, Lena Vinal, Carmella Capra Beliville, and Ann Desantis. He was predeceased by his brothers Aniello and Armando. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren as well as several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
