Obituary of Sr. Andrea Sr. Ann Thaddeus Walsh, SND

Sr. Andrea Walsh, SND, 72 of Stoneham, died peacefully on June 22,2014 at the Sisters of Notre Dame Provincial House in Ipswich. Sr. Andrea was born Andrea Marie Walsh in Boston, MA on March 17, 1942, the daughter of the late Thaddeus Joseph and Ann Marie (Conlin) Walsh. Known formerly in religious life as Sr. Ann Thaddeus she entered the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur at Waltham on February 2, 1962 and professed her final vows on August 30, 1970. Sister received her bachelor's degree from Emmanuel College and later earned a Masters in Religious Education from St. Michael's College in Vermont. Sister Andrea's ministries were in Salem, Tyngsboro, Woburn, Waltham and Hudson and Worcester. Sister Andrea also served several terms in province leadership for the Sisters of Notre Dame and as provincial secretary to the Assumptionist Fathers in Brighton. Sr. Andrea is survived by her many Sisters of Notre Dame, and her brother Michael and his wife Susan of Weymouth, nephews and niece, Thomas, Michael and Pamela Prior and their families. Sister Andrea's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 26, at 3:30 PM at the Sisters of Notre Dame Our Lady Queen Chapel, 30 Jeffrey's Neck Road, Ipswich, MA Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 1:30 until 3:15 PM. A Prayer Service will be held at 2:30 PM. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Ipswich. Memorial contributions may be made in Sister's memory to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, 30 Jeffreys Neck Rd., Ipswich, MA 01938.
