Obituary of Raymond E. Fecteau

Raymond E. Fecteau, 86, of Peabody , MA and Naples , Florida , died peacefully on Sunday, June22 , 2014 in Peabody with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of 65 years to Marilyn (Vagge) Fecteau. He was born in Salem , MA on August 6, 1927, the son of the late Eli J. and Helena (Marquis) Fecteau and was raised there having attending St. Mary’s Grammar School in Salem and St. Mary’s Boy's High School in Lynn . He later graduated from Coyne Electrical School and also from ICS receiving his degree in electrical engineering. He had been employed at GTE Sylvania working as the supervisor of plant engineering. He began the program for coding Semi-conductors and was responsible for the government program for telecommunications. He retired at the age of 55 to spend time with his loving family and to travel with his wife. He lived in Naples, Florida and summered in Peabody MA. He was a veteran of WW 11 serving with the US Navy. Raymond was a devout catholic and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody. He volunteered in many capacities at St. Agnes Church in Naples, FL. He loved listening to music and enjoyed reading his favorite books. He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, two devoted daughters and sons-in-law, Donnarae and Robert Rubin of Acton and Dianne and Thomas Mannion of Bonita Springs, Florida. Raymond also had two grandchildren that he loved dearly, Dr. Abigail Rubin of Brighton, MA and Daniel Rubin of San Francisco, CA. He cherished his family and he loved his Catholic faith. He peacefully placed himself in God's hands. His spirit will stay with us forever. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St . , Peabody (Downtown) facility. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM in St. John the Baptist Church . Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be private. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer’s disease Association, 480 Pleasant St . , Watertown , MA 02472 in his memory in lieu of flowers.
