Obituary of Lillian T. Guzofski

Lillian T. (Donlon) Guzofski, 88, of Peabody, died Saturday afternoon at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of John Guzofski with whom she shared over 68 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine (Hanley) Donlon. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of St. John’s Girls High School. Lillian was a longtime volunteer for North Shore Arc in Danvers and the North Shore. She also served as a family coordinator for the Special Olympics and was later voted into the Special Olympics Hall of Fame. Prior to her marriage, she was employed as a telephone operator with New England Telephone. Besides her loving husband of 68 years, she is survived by her son, Kevin Guzofski of Peabody and her daughter Mariann Guzofski of Beverly, her siblings, Joe Donlon, Esther Breen, Mary Donlon, and Helen McInnis, all of Peabody, her four grandchildren, Lisa Grant, Ashley Guzofski, Deirdra Guzofski, and Kevin Guzofski, Jr., and also by three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son John Guzofski, her sister, Elizabeth LoCicero, and by her grandson Jason Guzofski. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 – 11:30 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
