Obituary of Josephine (Romasz) Doherty
Josephine (Romasz) Doherty, 96, of Peabody died Tuesday morning at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late William Doherty.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Pokalsky) Romasz. She was raised and educated in Salem and has lived in Peabody for the past 40 years.
Josephine was employed for many years as a leather worker at the former AC Lawrence in Peabody.
She is survived by her niece Terry Loring of Salem, her nephews Mark Ricker of Beverly, and Jeffrey Cardinal and his family of Livermore, CA, her niece Arlene Pettipas of Peabody, her step daughter Susan Doherty of Beverly and her special friends, Paul Hersey and Martha Nashaf. The family would like to thank the staff at the Rosewood Nursing Home for their compassionate and professional care.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
