Obituary of Robert W. Cody

Robert W. Cody, 74, of Hampton, NH and formerly of Peabody, MA, died peacefully at his residence on Sunday, July 27, 2014 with his family at his side after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Patricia M. (Hayes) Cody and the late Carolyn J. (Newhall) Cody. He was born in East Boston, MA on January 28, 1940, the son of the late Walter and Lorriane (Doyle) Cody and was raised, educated and resided in Peabody. He later moved to Phoenix, Arizona before moving back to Hampton NH 15 years ago. Bob had been a manager for Martin Liquor Distributors for many years. Later he became a Salesman for Sears Department Stores in Arizona for 8 years prior to his retirement. He had enlisted in the US Air Force where he served in Korea before his discharge in 1964. Bob enjoyed going camping in New Hampshire and at LakeSebago in Maine but his favorite time was spent being with his family. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Cody of Hampton, NH, a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jacquline Cody of Glendale, AZ, a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tom Ackerman of Merrimac, MA, his siblings and their spouses, Janice and Tom Harkins, Lorriane Cone and her companion Frank Saraiva and Marion and Michael Garabedian all of Peabody, Thomas and Lynn Cody of Phoenix, AZ and Walter and Sue Cody of Beverly, MA, a brother-in-law, Vincent Raponi of Peabody, three step-children, Deanna Hickman, Lauren Baker and Bryan Marshall of NH, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Karen Cody and the brother of the late Judy Raponi. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. His funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
