Obituary of Fotoula "France (Roumeliotis) Havelick

Fotoula “Frances” (Roumeliotis) Havelick PEABODY—Fotoula “Frances” (Roumeliotis) Havelick, 89, beloved wife of the late Peter Havelick, died peacefully at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, while in the comforting presence of her family, after an extended illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Costas and Demetra (Stratigrous) Roumeliotis. She was a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1942, and was a lifelong resident of the city. She continued her education at Wilfred Beauty Academy. Mrs. Havelick was a hairdresser at a shop in Boston until giving birth to her children. Her biggest passion in life was her devotion to family. She also was a very gifted pianist, and played a wide range of music for various churches, events, and gatherings. Music was her next favorite passion in life. Frances, as she was known, was active in several organizations including the Rebecca Lodge of the Odd Fellows and was a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed developing her musician skills and played a genre from Classical, Greek or the American Song Book in Jazz. She would do anything for her family and will be dearly missed by those who knew her. She is survived by her daughters Diana & her husband David Irons of Wakefield, Stephanie Havelick of Peabody, and Leah & her husband Douglas Penley of Salem; five grandchildren Kirk & his wife Elizabeth Irons of Wakefield, Sarah Penley, Amber Penley, Katrina Penley and Rebecca Penley all of Salem; a great-granddaughter Genevieve Irons of Wakefield; a brother Louis & his wife Pola Roumeliotis of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a grandson Keith Irons and her siblings Stella Kotronis, Nicholas Roumeliotis, and Peter Rommell. She was also the mother of Paul Havelick. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Saturday August 2, 2014 from 10 – 11 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
