Obituary of Earl Annis Scruton

Earl Annis Scruton, 76, of Salem, So Carolina and formerly of Lexington, MA, died Monday, January 9, 2006 at his residence after a long illness. He was the husband of Joan Laraway Mc Kinley Scruton. He was born and raised in Ayer, MA, the son of the late Ruel Ulysses and Gladys (Annis) Scruton and resided in Lexington, MA before moving to Salem, SC. He had been a computer programmer with the Watson Wyatt Company for many years prior to his retirement. A veteran of the Korean War, he served with the US Army prior to his discharge. He enjoyed playing tennis and was a member of the Keowee Key Tennis Club in Salem,SC. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 6 sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Patricia Scruton of Framingham, MA, Dwayne and Darlene Scruton and Roger and Inez Scruton all of Ayer, MA, Mark and Lisa Scruton of Dracut, MA, Donald and Mary Scruton of Newton, NH and William and Marie Scruton of Chelmsford, MA, a sister Priscilla Fuller of Pocasset, MA, Fourteen Granadchildren, Five great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2006 from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut ST., Peabody facility. Services will be held there at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, West Peabody.
