Obituary of Mary (Argetes) Geanakos
Mary (Argetes) Geanakos, 97, formerly of Arlington and
Somerville, died Sunday at the Caritas Hospital in Norwood after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Charles Geanakos.
She was born in Messini, Greece on February 6, 1906, the daughter of the late George and Vassiliki (Argetes) Argetes and had resided in
Somerville and Arlington most of her life before moving to the Hellenic Nursing Center in Canton 15 years ago.
She had been a stitcher at the Byron Clothing Company in Somerville for 15 years
Prior to her retirement. She enjoyed knitting and caring for her family.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Lefky Geanakos of Arlington, Ma., 2 grandchildren, Charles and Tim Geanakos both of Arlington, Ma., a sister, Helen Kyslowsky and a brother John Argetes both of Peabody and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at
11:00 A.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody
facility. Visiting hours on Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
