Obituary of Lisa A. (Doran) Gildea

Lisa A. (Doran) Gildea, 40 years, wife of Joseph D. Gildea of Peabody, died unexpectedly Sunday after being stricken at her home. Mrs. Gildea was born December 5, 1962 in Salem daughter of Louise S. (O’ Rourke) Doran of Peabody and the late Edward W. Doran. She was raised in Peabody and graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School class of 1980 and was a lifelong resident of the city. Mrs. Gildea was employed as an operator and clerical worker for 10 years at the former New England Telephone Company in their North Shore business offices until her disability due to blindness. She was a member of the Lowell Association for the Blind, and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and animals especially her Yellow Labrador Seeing Eye guide dog Meryl. In addition to her mother and husband of Peabody, she is survived by a son Matthew G. Pearson of Peabody; a brother and his wife, Edward W. and Susan Doran of Peabody; 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Norine E. and Robert Fiore of Peabody, Janine M. McCarron of No. Andover and Barbara L. and Norman Butch Perry of Arundel, ME; 4 nieces and 2 nephews, Nicole Digiacomo, Jamie and Kristine Fiore all of Peabody, Michael and James McCarron both of No. Andover and Jaclyn Perry of Arundel, ME, also several aunts, uncles and cousins. Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Adelaide Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Lowell Association for the Blind, 174 Central St., Lowell, MA 01852.
