Obituary of Joan M. (O'Leary) Gridley
Joan Marie (O’ Leary) Gridley, 65, a resident of both West
Peabody and Wakefield, N.H., died early Tuesday morning at her West Peabody residence surrounded by her loving family. She had celebrated her 41st Wedding Anniversary with her Husband, Ralph W. Gridley on Monday, June 17.
She was born and raised in Melrose, Ma., the daughter of the late Daniel J. and
Helen V. (O’ Connor) O’ Leary and had resided in Peabody for the past 35 years and
In Wakefield, N.H. for the past 4 years.
She was a graduate of St. Mary’ s Elementary and High School in Melrose and the
Cardinal Cushing College in Boston. She had been a sales person for the N.E.A.T.CO Trophy & Insignia Company, Peabody for 10 years prior to her illness.
She had been very active in Our Lady of Assumption activities.
Surviving her besides her husband are 3 sons, Michael Gridley, Stephen Gridley and
Kevin Gridley all of Peabody; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Ellen Lord of Everett, Ma.
And Anne and Mark Ventola of Stoneham; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Joyce
O’ Leary of Hauppauge, L.I., N.Y.; a sister Mary Alice Boylen of Melrose; 3 grandchildren, Stephen Lord, Christopher and Katherine Ventola and 4 nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from the Cahill-Brodeur facility at
20 Church St., Peabody of the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Lynnfield at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visiting hours on Wednesday from
4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be
made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, Ma. 10701.
