Obituary of Maria Alda (Cordeiro) Correia

Maria Alda (Cordeiro) Correia, 79, of Peabody, died thursday morning, August 14, 2014 at her residence with her husband, daughter and grandaughters at her side. She was the loving wife of 51 years to Ramiro Correia. She was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal on February 18, 19335, the daughter of the late Mariano and Luiza (Trindade) Cordeiro. She was raised in Sao Maguel before moving to Peabody with her husband in 1964 Alda had worked at the Salem Hospital for 30 years prior to her retirement. She had been a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and loved cooking for her family and one of her cherished times was taking walks with her twin sister. Besides her husband, Ramiro, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Filomena and Bob Morton all of Peabody, her cherished grandchldren, Jackson Morton of the US Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT, and Marissa and Gabrielle Morton of Peabody, also a brother and several nieces, nephews and many close friends. She was pre-deceased by her twin sister and brother and will be missed by all who knew her. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 12 Noon until 4:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn Street Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 8:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Walsh Ave., Peabody at 9:00 AM Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
