Obituary of Rita Y. (Deschenes) DiFabio
Rita Y. (Deschenes) DiFabio, 86, of Peabody and formerly of Danvers and Salem, died early Thursday morning at theTwin Oaks Nursing Home, Danvers, following a brief illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emilia (Gagnon) Deschenes. She was raised and educated in Salem, later lived Danvers and has spent the last 25 years living in Peabody.
She worked for over 17 years as a Packer for the Salem Olde Fashion Candy Store in Salem, retiring in 1985. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Torigian Community Life Center in Peabody and working with the Peabody Council on Aging. She was a member of the Senior Citizens Drill Team and she also enjoyed Beano, traveling and playing cards.
She is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Ronald and Peggi DiFabio of Wyoming, RI, a daughter and son-in-law, Carol Ann and Joseph Patuto of Danville, NH, a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Alice Deschenes of Salem, and a sister Jacqueline and her husband Jean Cayer of Ipswich. She is also survived by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 4:00 until 6:00 PM.
