Victoria (Surman) Nizwantowski
PEABODY Victoria (Surman) Nizwantowski, 88, beloved wife of the late Matthew Nizwantowski, died unexpectedly on Friday afternoon at the Lahey North Medical Center Hospital in Peabody.
Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Agnes (Buras) Surman. She attended Peabody schools and was a lifelong resident of the city.
She worked at GTE Sylvania in Salem and for Pierce Leather in Salem.
Mrs. Nizwantowski, Babcie as she was fondly known by her family and friends, was a devoted member at St. Joseph’ s Church in Peabody which her father helped to build. She was especially proud of her Polish heritage. Besides devoting her life to her children and grandchildren, she was a familiar sight shopping and socializing at the North Shore Mall in Peabody until her unexpected death. She loved dining out with her family and friends. She was a member of the St. Joseph’ s Ladies Guild.
She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends, including a son, former longtime Peabody Football and Baseball Coach, current School Committee member Edward & Patricia Nizwantowski of Peabody; three daughters and sons-in-law, Louise & Paul Wieloch of Dudley, Helen & Ronald Marshall of MS, and Lori & Scott Judd of Peabody, 10 grandchildren, Matthew and John Caswell of Worcester, Luke Caswell of NY, Susan and Karen Marshall, both of Mobile, AL, Paul, Brad, and Amy Nizwantowski, Emily and Kalie Judd all of Peabody, 2 special nephews Ed & John Surman of Peabody, and many other relatives and friends, including her extended family with the Judd’ s, Kerkorian’ s, and Sarowsky’ s . She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Buzzy Surman.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited at 10:45 AM on Tuesday for her Funeral Service at 11 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. location, Peabody
Visiting hours on Monday from 4 to 8 P.M.
Burial will be in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
