Obituary of Douglas D Broughton
Douglas D. Broughton, 40, of Salem and formerly of Peabody
died unexpectedly Thursday evening at the Lahey Medical
Center, Burlington.
He was born in Salem, Ma. on May 16, 1963, the son of
David A. and Andrea B. (Bray) Broughton of Peabody and was
raised in Peabody graduating from Peabody High School in
1981.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Salem State
College in 1986 and had resided in Salem for the past 10
years.
He loved to play golf on the North Shore
golf courses. While in high school, he played the tuba
for the Peabody High School Band.
He also umpired many little league and later high
school baseball games.
Surviving him besides his parents are 2 brothers and a
sister-in-law, Richard and Denise Broughton of Ashland,
and Christopher Broughton of Brooklyn, N.Y., a Sister,
Diane Broughton of Peabody, a niece and a nephew, William
and Alana Broughton of Ashland, an Aunt and an uncle,
Ralph and Anna Broughton of Peabody.
His Funeral will be held on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m.from
the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut
St., Peabody facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St.
Ann's Church, Lynn St., So. Peabody at 9:00 A.M.
Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours
on Monday from 4-8 P.M. Expressions of sympathy may be
made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, 280 Hillside
Ave., Needham, Ma. 02494 in his memory.
